  22. The transporter effect in ST is a 2D effect.
  23. Try using a flat plane that fits in the cylinder (and turns to keep facing
  24. the camera if you're animating it), that has a transparency map, and a
  25. luminance map (animating and/or moving). Animate the dissolve of the plane
  26. and the cylinder.
